The MSO Forum Arena is now open for the 2013 Battle Season.
1. Competitors must Register on the MSO Forum and have their battle name approved for publication and an offical season 2013 list will be posted in the Arena.
2. During battle season Forum members can not change their names, except by requesting admin to do it.
3. If accepted the competitor will face their first challenge. The throw of a dice set of shuffle moves will determine which steps you will need to include in a 1 min video.
4. There will be a range of battles to suit all styles and 3 competition levels, beginner, intermediate, advanced. The competitor chooses their level by self selection. If we think you're in the wrong league, we'll suggest a more fair one.
5. All accepted competitors will be considered for a contract offer to have your footage included in Global Shuffle 2
---- more details to come -----
Questions can be asked in this thread.
'Battle Moves' :
There will be a variety of timelines for battle, some will have a number of rounds over many months, others will be just a quick poll type.
We can have up to 50 competitors in one battle. Crews and solo shufflers can join.
We're improving the phone mode at the same time going to a more tile button based format.
There'll be adventure game based personal quests too, with a variety of random (dice throw) quest options to personalise your quest and challenges.
Write your own story thread , you can write your own quest story using a ramge of common story setting elements , such as inside outside or weather, what moves to include and blog your experiences along the way as part of a peronal ongoing quest.
All free - All the time
If you are a graphic artist and want to design a set, please do. They can be included in the general drop down selection menu so anyone can use them
Just send us (admin) a square jpeg of each in the set, they'll be reduced to about the size of those sample tiles in the post above, and if approved, we'll upload them for use for you.
[These are draft rules , please feel free to comment or suggest some below]
The intention of Gloibal Shuffle Battles is not to harm the opponent, the intention is to prepare the individual competitor for pro performance, in competitions, live on stage or on film.
To intentionally place yourself under pressure in a Battle Zone, to battle harden yourself for pro shuffle life.
You need to hit the ground running when a pro opportunity comes along, you need to be already match-fit, ready to start 6am tommorrow type of thing.
You also need to know how to act professionally in these sorts of highly competitive situations. The people you compete against here could be the same people you compete against for a great job, and you'll be doing this sort of thing bumping into much the same people of your generation for the rest of your career, so you might as well be good friends and good competitors, it'll good for both of you.
We need to prove that the video you submit for Battle is legit, meaning that it's a video you have just made for the battle, rather than an old vid,
So there'll be 2 actions to prove that and also add an element of chance in the Battle.
We'll be using this method to establish that you have the necessary equipment for battle, such as access to a camera, and some form of uploading the vid to youtube.
So once you've signed onto MSO forum for battle, each competitor will get their own shuffle studio under your name to post practice and training vids and store all your battle vids so others can find them easily.
So the actions you can practice would be,
1. Throw dice to select 3 shuffle moves out of 7, that you must include in your training vid.
2. List 3 music tracks you'd like to use in the vid, throw the dice, which will select just one track, which you must use in the vid.
The vids can be just 1 minute or so long, The actions are to force you out of your comfort zone and reduce the amount of control you have over the contest.
This is an intentional stress inducing situation, training you to become flexible so you can change approach quickly to adapt to sudden changes in circumstances beyond your control.

It will give you a first hand opportunity to be amongst the battle season competitors, training with competitors for the experience and challenge, but without the stress of battle.
We'll be having yearly Battle seasons, so don't worry if you're not battle ready now, or you're a beginner. There's plenty of opportunities to come as the competition grows globally.
Got ya on file now ch7 , so don't go pinching this stuff will ya ? look what happened to Murdoch and Everybody Dance Now, big flop, bad press, lots of pissed off veiwers ... more http://mso1.cultureforum.net/t1874-snoops

We'll be setting up Global Shuffle Battles on-the-ground which will be filmed for Global Shuffle 2 and ongoing Global Shuffle movies.
If you are a respected venue interested in hosting some Global Shuffle Battles, please get in touch with Garry Shepherd email@example.com
The venues can be anywhere in the world, city centres or out of town, as shufflers live everywhere
We've rejected some interested parties as unsuitable already, and we are pleased to have interest from more suitable ones.
We'll keep you updated.
We are finalising details, and will release more info once we've got the contracts signed.
Don't worry you haven't missed out on the competitions, this is just the beginning of years of our new international global shuffle competitions to come
The competitions will include Shuffling, and sections for fashion, artworks and video editing, production, graphics, style etc. So there's lots of fun, oh and prizes.
