I have seen a lot of really good tall shufflers. Height may vary style, but it doesn't affect how WELL you shuffle. Or at least thats what i think.

Height shouldn't affect your shuffling much at all, it's more your total body mass and the amount of muscle you have. More body mass, more muscle needed to move it.

Height can be an issue if you're shuffling with others in a synchronised team for competitions etc. There's no problem with being tall or short, just as long as most are around the same height.

But for general shuffling no drama's, just find a set of moves you're comfortable with.

Check out the brilliant Blue Ridge Mountain Dancers with Pete seeger (1967) there's some pretty tall guys, it'll give you an idea of how they shuffle. Clogging, the old celtic folk dance has the foundation steps for shuffling, there's a huge celt population in Melbourne. We learned all these steps as kids, it's all just passed down through the generations since the melbourne 1850's gold rush days.

Melbourne shufflers just updated it in the early 1990's, and used normal soft soled shoes (trainers, gym shoes etc) instead of wooden soled taps.

yeah good idea. It's like use your body size to your advantage. don't feel limited to what other shufflers do.

its similar to breakdancing: the taller you are, the harder it is but the better it looks.
You may have to put more effort in to look good but it pays off Very Happy
Im 6'4" and ive been shuffling for ages, the long legs definitely help alot.
